KaCrole Higgins was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2020. “In May 2020, I found a lump in my breast. I cried. By June, it was diagnosed as breast cancer, triple positive, stage 1A. While getting this cancer diagnosis was devastating, it also became an opportunity. Suddenly, the cancer gave me clarity. It gave me clarity about what was important, what was good in my life, what was toxic in my life, and what I needed to do.” Click below to read more of KaCrole’s story |
If Landon Ryan had been diagnosed with bilateral retinoblastoma 10, 20 or 30 years ago, she might not be here today with nearly perfect vision. Thanks to recent improvements in the treatment for this rare form of cancer that almost exclusively affects children under the age of 5, the diagnosis had the power to change Landon’s life when she was 11 months old, but not to take it — or her eyesight. Split Course Adaptive Radiation Therapy With Pembrolizumab With/Without Chemotherapy for Treating Stage IV Lung Cancer
Multiple Cancer Types
This phase I/II trial tests the safety and efficacy of split-course adaptive radiation therapy in combination with immunotherapy with or without chemotherapy for the treatment of patients with stage IV lung cancer or lung cancer that that has spread to nearby tissue or lymph nodes (locally advanced). Radiation therapy is a standard cancer treatment that uses high energy rays to kill cancer cells and shrink tumors. Split-course adaptive radiation therapy uses patient disease response to alter the intensity of the radiation therapy. Immunotherapy with monoclonal antibodies such as pembrolizumab, ipilimumab, cemiplimab, atezolizumab or nivolumab may help the body's immune system attack the cancer, and may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. Chemotherapy drugs like carboplatin, pemetrexed, and paclitaxel work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Giving split-course adaptive radiation therapy with standard treatments like immunotherapy and chemotherapy may be more effective at treating stage IV or locally advanced lung cancer than giving them alone.

A Study to Evaluate Adverse Events and Change in Disease Activity of Intravenous ABBV-706 Versus Standard of Care in Adult Participants With Relapsed/Refractory Small Cell Lung Cancer
Lung
Lung
Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) is characterized by aggressive and rapid growth and a tendency to develop early spread to distant sites including mediastinal lymph nodes, liver, bones, adrenal glands, and brain. The purpose of this study is to assess safety, tolerability, and change in disease activity of ABBV-706 compared to standard of care (SOC) treatment (topotecan, lurbinectedin, or amrubicin).
ABBV-706 is an investigational drug being developed for the treatment of SCLC. There are two treatment arms in this study. Participants will either receive ABBV-706 or SOC. Approximately 531 adult participants will be enrolled in the study across 175 sites worldwide.
Participants with SCLC will receive intravenous (IV) ABBV-706 or SOC \[topotecan (IV or orally), or lubinectedin (IV), or amrubicin (IV)\]. The estimated duration of the study is approximately 53 months.
There may be higher treatment burden for participants in this trial compared to their standard of care. Participants will attend regular visits during the study at a hospital or clinic and may require frequent medical assessments, blood tests, questionnaires, and scans.

A Study to Evaluate the Safety and Tolerability of TOS-358 in Women With HR+ HER2- Breast Cancer
Multiple Cancer Types
The goal of this clinical trial is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of TOS-358 in women with HR+ HER2- metastatic breast cancer whose tumors have a mutation in PIK3CA and who meet all other study enrollment criteria. The main questions it aims to answer are:
1. Phase 1a: what is the maximum tolerated dose and recommended dose for phase 2?
2. Phase 1a: how safe and tolerable is TOS-358 at different dose levels when taken orally once or twice per day?
3. Phase 1b: how safe and effective is TOS-358 when given with standard of care medicines for HR+HER2- metastatic breast cancer (fulvestrant and CDK4/6i)

Clinical Trial of N-803 Plus Tislelizumab or Prior Failed Immune Checkpoint Inhibitor and Docetaxel Versus Docetaxel Monotherapy in Participants With Advanced or Metastatic Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer Who Have Acquired Resistance to Immune Checkpoint In
Lung
Lung
This is a randomized, two-cohort, open-label, phase 3, clinical trial to compare the efficacy and safety of N-803 plus tislelizumab and docetaxel (cohort A) or prior failed Health Authority-approved antiprogrammed death-1 (PD-1) or anti-programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) CPI and docetaxel (cohort B) versus docetaxel monotherapy (cohorts A and B).
For each cohort, enrolled participants will be randomized 2:1 to treatment in the experimental arm or the control arm. For cohort A, the randomization will be stratified by geographical region (North America vs Europe vs Asia vs Other), NSCLC histology (squamous vs nonsquamous), and actionable genomic alteration (AGA) (epidermal growth factor receptor \[EGFR\]/anaplastic lymphoma kinase \[ALK\]/ROS proto-oncogene 1, receptor tyrosine kinase \[ROS1\] vs Other AGA vs No AGA).
For cohort B, the randomization will be stratified by geographical region (Americas vs Asia Pacific \[PAC\] vs Other), NSCLC histology (squamous vs nonsquamous), and actionable genomic alteration (AGA) (Yes vs No).

EBUS-TBNA vs Transbronchial Mediastinal Cryobiopsy for Adequacy of Next Generation Sequencing
Lung
Lung
This is a multi-center clinical trial evaluating the effect of transbronchial mediastinal cryobiopsy for its ability to improve the likelihood of obtaining tissue sufficient for molecular analysis. Patients in outpatient clinics or pre-operative holding areas planning to undergo a bronchoscopic biopsy of a suspected malignant lesion (peripheral or mediastinal) for initial diagnosis, staging, or tissue acquisition for molecular analysis will be considered for enrollment and consented. Patients will only be enrolled if intraoperative ROSE suggests malignancy. Patients will be randomized to continue with the operator's initial EBUS-TBNA needle or switch to a cryoprobe to perform a sampling.

Testing Lutetium Lu 177 Dotatate in Patients With Somatostatin Receptor Positive Advanced Bronchial Neuroendocrine Tumors
Lung
Lung
This phase II trial studies the effect of lutetium Lu 177 dotatate compared to the usual treatment (everolimus) in treating patients with somatostatin receptor positive bronchial neuroendocrine tumors that have spread to other places in the body (advanced). Lutetium Lu 177-dotate is a radioactive drug. It binds to a protein called somatostatin receptor, which is found on some neuroendocrine tumor cells. Lutetium Lu 177-dotatate builds up in these cells and gives off radiation that may kill them. It is a type of radioconjugate and a type of somatostatin analog. Lutetium Lu 177 dotatate may be more effective than everolimus in shrinking or stabilizing advanced bronchial neuroendocrine tumors.
