Neuroendocrine Tumors

Overview

Neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) are cancers that start in cells that connect the nervous and endocrine systems. While they can form anywhere in the body, they most frequently occur in the lungs, gastrointestinal tract, and pancreas. NETs can range from slow-growing tumors to more aggressive cancers and may or may not produce excess hormones. Symptoms and treatment vary depending on the tumor's location and whether it is secreting hormones.

At Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, our multidisciplinary team provides comprehensive care for patients with neuroendocrine tumors. We combine advanced diagnostic tools, specialized treatment approaches, and access to clinical trials to develop personalized care plans tailored to each patient's disease and individual needs.
