Shared Resources
In support of its research mission, Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center supports a robust network of Shared Resources that provide investigators with access to cutting-edge technologies, specialized services, and expert scientific guidance.
Shared Resources Designed to Support Research and Discovery
Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center offers investigators from Vanderbilt Health, Vanderbilt University, industry, and other institutions the use of shared resources supported by the cancer center, as well as core services supported by Vanderbilt Health and Vanderbilt University.
These shared resources use cutting-edge technologies that are impractical to set up in individual laboratories. In addition to providing others with the use of state-of-the-art instrumentation and methodology, the shared resources provide education and training in conceptual and practical aspects of related technologies.
Shared Resource Leadership
William Tansey, PhD
Associate Director for Shared Resources
William Tansey, PhD, oversees the 10 shared resources of the Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center. Dr. Tansey’s research lab focuses on transcriptional regulation of normal cancer cells. Dr. Tansey has been active in leadership of the cancer center as a Research Program Leader for the Genome Maintenance program.
Shared Resource Oversight Group
Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center’s shared resources are drawn from a network of over 80 Vanderbilt Health and Vanderbilt University institutionally managed shared resources, with services customized and focused to maximally support cancer research. In addition to institutional oversight, the VICC Shared Resource Oversight Group evaluates operations, finances, user feedback, and emerging needs, ensuring the portfolio of shared resources remains aligned with investigator priorities and the Cancer Center mission.
