Emerging Technologies
The Vanderbilt community brings informatics and technological expertise to the laboratory and clinics to more thoroughly investigate the future delivery of care and how hypothesis driven research is developed by querying complex, large, and comprehensive datasets.
Implementing Technology to Lessen Cancer Burden
Integration and partnership with other centers in the Vanderbilt community provide our researchers with direct lines to cutting-edge, advanced technologies. These close partnerships allow us to collaborate and measure predictions about patient outcomes, build tools to assist in the delivery of care, and develop complex biological hypotheses based on the large amounts of existing data.
Vanderbilt Clinical Informatics Center
The mission of the Vanderbilt Clinical Informatics Center (VCLIC) is to form and nurture an outstanding community of clinical informaticians at Vanderbilt Health and “pave the road” so that Vanderbilt faculty, students, and staff find it easy to access data, test innovations, and evaluate results in support of informatics practice, research, and education.
Vanderbilt University Institute for Imaging Science
Developing the next generation of imaging and its utilization in the diagnosis and care of patients is the goal of the Vanderbilt University Institute for Imaging Science (VUIIS). The evolution and development of increasingly powerful technology for imaging the inner structures and functions of the body have not only led to deeper understandings of the diagnosis of disease, but also the biological structures, functions, and activity fundamental to molecular and cellular processes.
Center for Computational and Systems Biology at Vanderbilt University
The Center for Computational and Systems Biology at Vanderbilt University brings together world-class talent in the areas of computer science, engineering, and biomedical research to approach complex questions about human disease and conditions. The goal of this center is to accelerate discovery and models of how biological systems work and how they interact to develop insights into potential treatments for human diseases.
Vanderbilt Lab for Immersive AI Translation
The VALIANT initiative applies AI across diverse fields to develop innovative solutions to today’s most pressing challenges. VALIANT leverages the potential of AI from fundamental scientific discovery to clinical translation to practice-changing implementation. The team’s work focuses on predictive modeling and forecasting, detection patterning, image and data analysis, and systems optimization.
